One of our clients in the manufacturing industry faced a significant challenge with their daily operations activity reports. They were manually generating reports in Excel for MIGO (Material Goods Movement), MROs and RMRs confirmations, and inventory quantity levels by product group. This process was time-consuming, prone to errors, and required extensive manual effort to keep the reports up-to-date.
Recognizing the need for improvement, we embarked on a project to automate this process. By leveraging SQL queries and stored procedures, we aligned the necessary datasets and created a series of interactive Power BI dashboards. These dashboards not only automate data filtering and collation but also provide visual drill-down reports. This transformation allows users to easily analyze and interpret data, leading to better decision-making and increased productivity.
The new Power BI dashboards feature a range of visual elements, including per-month quantities, value totals, trending charts, and drill-down capabilities by month. One of the standout features is the ability to generate trendlines and forecasts, providing valuable insights into the data. This comprehensive solution replaces the cumbersome Excel-based system, significantly enhancing the usability and effectiveness of the reports.
