Managing pricing can be complex, especially for companies with diverse customer groups. We recently simplified this process for a client, ensuring better efficiency and accuracy, who wanted a quick and simple solution to this problem.


The Challenge

The client's pricing team used a master Excel spreadsheet for various products and customer groups. The challenge was splitting this spreadsheet into customer-specific files, a tedious process that risked accidental exposure of pricing details.


Our Solution

We developed a structured Pricing Team site within a Document Library, with a master folder and subfolders for each customer group. Using Power Automate, we created a workflow to streamline the pricing update process. The automated script in the Master Pricing File (MPF) accepted customer group parameters and concealed non-relevant columns. This facilitated seamless copying of updated pricing files into customer-specific subfolders and removed obsolete files.


Power Automate also enabled an email notification system, informing respective readers of updated pricing files with direct links for easy access. This approach reduced manual effort and improved accuracy and timeliness of pricing updates.


We provided comprehensive training to the pricing team on initiating the Power Automate workflow and supplied a detailed one-page document for ongoing reference.
